The One-Stop Center programme, also known as Sakhi, is a component of a comprehensive programme of national women's empowerment missions, including Indira Gandhi Matritoba Sahayogyojana. The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has developed this centrally funded programme. MWCD aims to set up one-stop shops nationwide to provide integrated support and save women from the cycle of violence, whether private or public.
In India, gender-based violence has multiple symptoms. From facing domestic and sexual violence to being victims of toxic practices such as honorary killings, dowry, acid attacks, witch hunting, trafficking, and gender abuse, women and girls are deprived of dignity and livelihood. In addition, injustice violates their fundamental rights, disturbs their health and spirituality, and impedes their growth. OSCS supports women suffering from the wrath of physical, emotional, psychological, or sexual abuse, regardless of age, class, education level, culture, etc. In addition, it provides full support and compensation and helps you get out of long-term bindings. It's time to get rid of life's violence and discrimination.
This programme aims to address gender-based atrocities and promote multiple services for women affected by violence. The purpose of the programme is to :
One-Stop Centre Scheme facilitates an affected individual with multiple services. The OSCS details are as follows:
Emergency Response and Rescue Services : When a woman appears with a problem, OSC provides rescue and referral services. They are working with the help of the National Health Mission (NHM), which has 108 services and PCR tracks, to allow affected women to reach nearby hospitals and emergency shelters.
Medical Assistance : Affected women are treated and screened according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs.
Psycho-Social/Support Counselling : A tragic incident ravages the affected individual's confidence. So, the scheme of a one-stop centre also involves a skilled counsellor who will conduct the counselling service and help the affected woman address the issue and seek justice.
Legal Aid and Counselling : The OSC also provides impaneled lawyers or National/State/District Legal Service Authorities to help an affected individual seek justice.
Video Conferencing Facility : To expedite police and court proceedings, OSC provides a video conference facility were women involved can record their statements.
The One-Stop Center Program supports all women over the age of 18 and under the age of 18 whose happiness is threatened by the rage of violence, regardless of caste, beliefs, marriage history, religion, or sexual orientation. Under adverse circumstances, the system's services are easily accessible to all age groups.
The one-stop center programme is an ideal platform for women affected by violence. Let's see how the system helps the data subject.
In addition, affected women receive basic equipment such as food, medicine, and clothing, as well as other basic equipment such as menstrual napkins, soap, and shampoo.
An affected woman can access the One-Stop Centre Scheme in the following ways:
Immediately after the victim has filed a complaint or raised an issue, the DPO/PO/DM/DYSP/SP/CMO of the district or region dealing with the crime issue will receive a message.
In addition, whenever a suffering woman asks OSC for help on her behalf or on her behalf, the case is registered with the system in the desired format, and a unique ID is immediately generated.
In summary, social progress depends primarily on improving the status of women. However, the bitter truth of Indian culture shows that discrimination and neglect against women are steadily increasing. The one-stop center program empowers women and motivates them to seek justice by providing the support they need to respond to violence.
